Genetics books for kids?

So I know this kid who has basic questions about genetics. Basic questions, but more complicated than I can answer.

Anyone found any book written on about a 6th grade reading level about genetics? . . . Something interesting preferably.

Just thought I'd ask.

My kids love the David Macaulay books. His The Way We Work is pretty detailed but written for a kids. Your library should have it.

We put together a book for just that kid! It is called When Will Broccoli Taste Like Chocolate and is a compilation of answers to questions we have received at our Understanding Genetics website.
