Book Slump

I'm in one.

Anyone have a book that will get me out?

I read a good one this summer, The Book Thief by MarKus Zusak. It wasn't a hard read. I think it was written for a young adult audience. But the message is a good one and it makes you think.

I also just read the Silicon Valley Read for the year, The distant land of my Father by Bo Caldwell. It was chosen for our book club to discuss last month. It was one of those books that I would never have picked up if I was walking through the library but I really enjoyed and couldn't put down toward the end.

Have you read Wicked? I just finished it. I was on a pretty big memoir kick for a bit, so Wicked was my first foray into fiction in awhile.

So my escape book this month was Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Very fun. Young adult fiction, but fun. I also read The Distant Land of My Father. I wasn't as enamored as the person who recommended it to me, but it was an interesting read. I'm always looking for a good book -- keep up on the recommendation. Do you use goodreads?

I second goodreads.com.

I love to see what all my friends are reading and get their opinions on books.
